Today, Bridget Ziegler announced the support of U.S. Congressman Vern Buchanan (FL-16), who represents Sarasota County & Manatee County in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“A strong economy begins with an excellent public education system. The lessons learned and skills obtained in classrooms across Sarasota County today will lay the foundation for tomorrow’s economy.
Bridget is a conservative who supports local control of our schools and is committed to listening to the community she serves. Bridget understand the importance of encouraging parental involvement at every level of education and supporting our teachers in the classroom. Additionally, as a mother of a young child entering the Sarasota County School District in just a few years, she has a vested interest in providing the best education possible for not only her daughter, but every child in Sarasota County.
Because of her commitment to providing the best education possible in Sarasota County and her unique voice as the parent of a child entering the Sarasota County School System, I strongly endorse Bridget Ziegler’s campaign to continue her service on the Sarasota County School Board.”

U.S. Congressman Vern Buchanan is a self-made businessman who has represented Sarasota County since 2007. He is the only Florida member of Congress to serve on the influential Ways & Means Committee. Congressman Buchanan’s signature piece of legislation is the “Balanced Budget Amendment,” which would require the federal government to live within its means.
Prior to his congressional election, Vern Buchanan served six years in the Air National Guard, chaired both the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, and committed himself to diverse community causes, including the Boys and Girls Club, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, the Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes, the American Heart Walk, the Mote Marine Laboratory, and the Ringling Museum of Art.
